Hi, I'm Anne, and I like words.

I'm a brand messaging strategist and copywriter based in Lexington, KY. Which is LinkedIn-speak for "I help businesses figure out what to say, and then I say it really well."

I've spent over a decade in marketing doing a bit of everything: strategy, media, design, and creative. My very first job, in NYC media, taught me (quickly) that numbers and budgets are not my thing. So I did a 180, spent a couple of years at Chicago's Second City flexing my creative muscles, and remembered that words actually are my thing. (Yes, I've written sketches for SNL. No, no one ever called me back.)

Improv and sketch writing taught me to listen closely, find what's true, and make it land. As it happens, that 's most of what good copy is.

 

Now I do that for small businesses and agencies with their websites, brand voice, and campaigns — so they sound like themselves, just better.
